The Plan
Since Conrail never had any C44-9W, I'll have to modify them to be a later version dash 8.

Frame Beam Mod
This is a great looking loco. However, the overall truck appearance
of the loco seems to be lacking some details. This seems to be mainly credited
to the lack of detail piping and frame I-beams that support the
loco. I feel these were left out because there simply isn't enough
room for them and for the motor block assembly to rotate under tight
radiuses (radii?). So, I will try the method used to detail my MT6, where
I used a method of mounting the motor brick with four
bolts and trimming the brick mounting piece for turning clearance.
Please note that this alteration will slightly limit the turning radius of
the loco without further modifications

Front Frame Beam:
I-beam test fit. The beam I currently have is
too small in height, but the bottom of the beam is approximately
where it should be. I think I need a 5/8th inch high beam to
fill in the gap. |
